Description
Wing nuts from ITA Fasteners come with two flat and wide protrusions which make it easy for frequent adjustments which have to be made by hand. They are commonly adjusted without the help of tools, and for that reason, they are one of the most popular fasteners used for home improvements. They also have sharp aesthetics which make them visually appealing for customers. In its crux, this fastener can be used in applications like machine adjustment knobs where easy and quick access is required.
Please note that these nuts are not suitable to be used in applications which have to withstand many vibrations. This can severely damage the surface onto which it has been fastened and also loosen the nut from its position. Therefore, it is crucial that its vibration handling capacity is thoroughly studied and then used if it is being used in high maintenance and critical applications. It is available in stainless steel, carbon steel, and alloy steel to bear more wear and tear while also making it more corrosion resistant.
Wing Nuts, created to DIN 315 standard, feature two large ‘wings’ which are designed to make this nut easy to install without tools.
With a small head and large wings, this makes the nuts more convenient to install and remove by hand. They can be used alongside wing screws to create an easily adjustable fastening that is adjustable from both sides.
Wing Nuts are available at Fastenright in Grade 2 Titanium and Grade 5 Titanium as standard, with thread diameters ranging from M3 to M20.
Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and bespoke parts made to drawings. Minimum order quantities apply.
