High Light | ESD Anti Static Fabric ,Clean Room ESD Anti Static Fabric |
ESD clothing made with FairtechTextiles fabrics is the best solution for protecting electronic components against ESD. Our Anti Static fabrics are certified to European Standards. These anti-static fabrics are specifically designed to prevent the ESD effect when working with electronics, high-explosive vapors, or in super-clean lab environments.
Antistatic fabric, also known as conductive fabric or ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) fabric, is a type of textile that is designed to dissipate or neutralize static electricity. It is commonly used in industries where static electricity can cause damage to sensitive electronic components or create safety hazards.
We need antistatic fabric as it is able to quickly dissipate static charges and prevent the sudden discharge that can damage sensitive electronic components. Moreover, it is the preferred choice for clothing worn in static-sensitive environments such as cleanrooms and laboratories. Antistatic fabric generally comes in 5mm strip, 5mm grid and 2.5mm grid. It is commonly made by incorporating conductive fibers into the fabric structure, which are often carbon-based or metallic, such as carbonized polyester or stainless steel fibers to create a conductive network throughout the fabric. The fabric is 1.5m wide, surface resistance 10^6Ω-10^9Ω, available for class 10-100 cleanroom.
Antistatic fabric features high levels of conductivity and is widely used in Microelectronics, optical electronics, precision instruments, and aerospace which are more sensitive to static electricity and have higher requirements in cleanroom. The four main types of antistatic fabric materials are Anti-static polyester fabric, Anti-static TC fabric, Anti-static Diamond fabric, Anti-static T Shirt fabric.
Called "conductive silk", this fabric is composed of special polyester filaments and high quality conductive yarns. It can be used to sew a variety of functional garments such as coveralls, suits, jackets, caps, boots, among others. It is designed to provide excellent resistance to static, chemicals, and abrasion, making its use applicable in electronics, medicals, biology, optics, and spaceflight industries, adhering to ESD standards with system resistance from 10e6-10e8Ω.
It is made of two types of fabrics - conductive fiber fabric and ESD fabric. The former is crafted using metal oxide or carbon black composite spinning, while the latter prevents static electricity accumulation on garments, allowing fibers to be separate or fuse together during spinning. Its performance is excellent, under the temperature of 20± 5℃ and humidity of 30~40%, with its surface density charge being ≤7.0μc/m2 even with 100 washes. Each cloth should have etymological electricity of less than 0.6μ c/pc and grades of washability of ≥33.0 for A grade, ≥16.5 for B grade, and ≥5.0 for C grade.

Antistatic fabrics are widely used across various industries, mainly for controlling static electricity which can be potentially harmful.
In electronics and semiconductor manufacturing, for example, antistatic fabrics are used to make garments, gloves, and cleanroom clothing for personnel in order to protect sensitive electronic components from electrostatic discharge.
In the automotive industry, it is utilized to make seating materials and protective clothing in order to decrease static buildup and eliminate potential hazards during vehicle assembly.
Antistatic fabrics are essential for pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors too. They are used in cleanrooms and sterile environments to keep static electricity to a minimum and safeguard sensitive equipment or products.
They are extensively used by workers handling explosive materials or flammable substances, acting as a shield against static discharge and potential ignition.
In addition, the antistatic properties of such fabrics usually endures throughout the useful lifetime, although proper care and maintenance must be ensured in order to sustain performance. This includes following the manufacturer's instructions for washing, drying, and handling the material.
Fairtech's Anti Static ESD Fabrics are designed to provide maximum protection against static electricity and provide a safe and secure environment. Our ESD fabric has a surface resistance of 10^6-10^9Ω and can be used for a variety of applications including jackets, shirts, bags, blankets, caps, curtains, dresses, garments, shoes, suits, and more. Its lightweight thickness, good flexibility, anti-static, shrink-resistant, sustainable, and tear-resistant features make it ideal for any environment.

Q1. Is 100 cotton anti static?
A1: In the past, the majority of protective clothing used in the field of ESD was 100% cotton. As with all natural fibres, this offers the advantage of being subject to only minimal antistatic build-up without the use of additional equipment.
Q2. What are the disadvantages of ESD?
A2: Electrostatic discharge (ESD) occurs when a non-conducting surface is rubbed against another and the contacted surfaces are then parted. ESD can damage or destroy sensitive electronic components, erase or alter magnetic media, or set off explosions or fires in flammable environments.
Q3. What is ESD protection?
A3: Protection against electrostatic discharges (ESD) is part of EMC Immunity (Electro Magnetic Compatibility) requirements. It is the ability for equipment to properly operate in its electromagnetic environment by limiting the reception of electromagnetic energy that may cause physical damage.
Q4. What is the difference between antistatic and ESD?
A4:Anti-static floors usually have a coating or chemical additive that dissipates static across its surface so that you never build up enough charge to get a shock. ESD is a much more robust solution that delivers more consistent, long-term results because it's actually earthed.
Q5. What are 4 ways to prevent ESD?
A5: Keep electrostatic-sensitive parts in their containers until they arrive at static-protected workstations. Place parts in a static-protected area before removing them from their containers. Avoid touching pins, leads, or circuitry. Always be properly grounded when touching a static-sensitive component or assembly.
