The waste gas generated by industrial processes often contain harmful pollutants which can be detrimental to the environment. To mitigate their impact, the waste gas is treated through gas-liquid reverse absorption using a filled spray tower. In this process, the liquid (washing liquid) is sprayed in the form of mist or small droplets from the top of the tower while the waste gas is discharged from the tower body in reverse flow. This allows for gas-liquid contact that cools the waste gas, regulates the gas, and removes particles. Once treated in the demisting section, the exhaust gas is discharged into the atmosphere.
The system operates by the use of a fan unit that sucks the collected waste gas into the spray tower, where it flows through the filling layer section containing the medium of the gas/liquid contact reaction. The waste gas is then fully contacted with the liquid flowing on the surface of the filling material to absorb the acidic or alkaline dirt contained in the waste gas. The absorbed waste liquid is then collected in the sump and discharged to the wastewater system for treatment. Different acidic gases are absorbed by different absorption liquids, and sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution is commonly used as the absorption and neutralization liquid.

Additionally, it requires minimal maintenance and management, reducing personnel costs.
Furthermore, the PP absorption towers are resistant to corrosion by all conventional absorption liquids, making it a cost-effective material for industrial waste gas treatment. It has a higher temperature resistance than traditional materials such as PP, PVC, and PE, and can withstand liquid temperature of over 100℃. With no wearing parts that require replacement, the operating costs are low.
