Aluminum also has a significantly lower melting point (660°C, steel has a lower melting point of around 1400°C), so it cannot withstand extreme high temperature applications. It also has a high coefficient of thermal expansion, so if it gets too hot during processing, it can deform, making it difficult to maintain tight tolerances. Lastly, aluminum can be more expensive than steel due to higher electricity requirements in the consumption process.
