With high resilience, good tensile strength, and tear resistance, rubber mateiral is ususally be used as protectiion from abraision, sealing, dust proof, etc. And according to specific applications, there has particular working condition which asks for different synthetic rubber material with special peformance.
Such as when need both elasticity and UV and ozone resistances, while withstanding weathering, EPDM is always a good choice, It is a less expensive alternative to silicone, as it can last for long periods of time with proper use. When oil, fuel and chemical resistance is demanded, nitrile rubber is recommended, but it is not suitable to expose to outside contacting ozone.
As a mid-performance rubber material, Neoprene can resistance to ozone, heat, and no bad oils, solvents resistance, as well as its physical toughness makes it an all-purpose rubber. The extreme temperature resistance is the silicone rubber’s defining feature that sets it apart from most other elastomers. It does not resist oil and fuel, but has excellent resistance against ozone, aging and weathering.
