Marine air-bag, made of synthetic-tire-cord sheets and rubber sheets, was invented in Shandong province, China in early 1980s. It’s used to launch or haul out vessels as its first trying in marine industry.
They are also known as inflatable marine airbags, rolling airbags, lifting airbags, and salvage airbags. They are widely used in launching and landing ships, lifting andmoving sunken ships, sea-cross bridge building, laying underwater pipes, building mandrels, etc.
Advantages and Features:
1. Easy to transport: comparing to steel made floating device, the rubber airbag could be delfated with very light weight and delivery to the destination by boat. It takes little cost and room during transportation.
2. Easy to handle and use: airbag need to be tied on the boat bottom or side only by ropes or handles on it. Airbag not only helps the sunk boat from seabed to water surface, but also could giving consistant floating capacity on water. It could fix the boat for a period without other assitance.
3. Durable than PVC made airbag: synthetic tire cord layers are always used in tire industry which could hold extremely high presure than thin PVC material. It could be used for many times not less than 10 years.
4. Bigger lifting capacity: comparing to PVC made airbag, the rubber airbag could hold 200ton per piece
