Duplex stainless steel pipe is austenite-austenite dual phase stainless steel pipe, it is developed for applications that demand high strength and corrosion resistance. Duplex stainless steel pipe is a cost effective solution for many applications where the 300 series stainless steel pipe are susceptible to chloride stress corrosion cracking. Duplex stainless steel pipe is an idea choice for the applications which require exceptional strength and corrosion resistance, such as chemical process, petrochemical, and seawater equipment.
Duplex steels are easily welded and formed, similar to austenitic grades. Depending on chromium, nickel and molybdenum content, duplex stainless steels are divided into four main categories: lean duplex, duplex, super duplex and hyper duplex. This family of alloys has great advantages in both material and engineered fabrication costs.
