Selection of diamond bit

1. For soft to medium hard (referring to the drillability classification of rock formations for diamond core drilling in Table 1-6) and complete homogeneous rocks, it is generally appropriate to use natural surface mounted bits, composite chip bits, polycrystalline bits, and some sintered bits.

2. For hard to hard and dense rocks (grades 7-12 in the classification table), generally, impregnated bits, sharp annular groove concentric circle or vertical and horizontal annular groove bits, or fine grain surface mounted diamond bits should be used.

3. In broken, hard and soft inter-bedded, fissure developed or strongly abrasive rocks, such as coal measures, it is advisable to use a sharp tooth type broad-spectrum drill bit or a reinforced electroplated impregnated drill bit with good wear resistance.

4. The specification for selecting matrix abrasion resistance according to the abrasiveness, weathering degree and fragmentation degree of rock stratum is as follows

(1) Strong abrasive rock, select matrix with high wear resistance.

(2) Medium abrasive rock, medium wear-resistant matrix shall be selected. The matrix with low abrasion resistance is selected for weakly abrasive rock.

(3) The more abrasive and hard the complex rock is, the diamond bit with good diamond grade and relatively fine particle size shall be selected.

(4) For the rock with strong abrasiveness and relatively broken, the diamond bit with high diamond concentration shall be selected under the condition of ensuring good diamond cladding. On the contrary, for homogeneous, dense and weakly abrasive rocks, diamond bits with low diamond concentration shall be selected.

(5) The rock is soft (Grade 1-4), with a lot of powder discharge, and composite chip bit or polycrystalline bit is selected. Bottom jetting bit shall be used for coring easily eroded rock deposit. The classification list of rock stratum abrasiveness is shown in the table.

Why is the water well drilling rig not suitable for use in rainy days?

After the well is completed, it is necessary to pump water to check the results. Under normal circumstances, a large draw down pumping can be done. The stable duration of the water level shall not be less than eight hours, and the water flow of the dynamic water level of the well shall be measured at the same time. The well drilling project shall ensure the smooth drainage of the construction site, so the rainy season shall be avoided. When working while excavating, the excavation slope shall be determined according to the physical and mechanical properties of the soil layer, generally 1:1.5, and there shall be a certain distance from the toe of the spoil slope to the upper opening of the excavation. For large wells with water inflow from the shaft wall, the water inlet hole and inverted filter layer of the shaft wall must be arranged according to the design requirements, and the water inlet hole shall be prevented from being blocked during construction. The filter material enclosure at the aquifer shall meet the requirements, the backfill shall have a certain super elevation, and the frozen soil in the backfill in winter shall not exceed 15%.
