Submersible slurry pump for mud transfer. which normally used for feeding shale shaker for CBM, HDD. It also can be used as feeding pump for decanter centrifuge. Usually we use single stage and single suction system. The standard length of pump 1 3m, but it can be customized per user demand.
Actually, the slurry pump is one kind of centrifugal pump. As slurry pump is mainly transferring liquid and solid mixture, the pump raw material is rather anti-abrasive. It can transfer different hard materials. Including sand, cement, particles, shale, and so on.
The submersible slurry pump consisting impeller, pump case, pump shaft, bearing, driven power, supporting frame, coupler, shaft sleeve, shaft seal, and so on. Usually, we use the electrical motor drive pump. The popular pump flow rate is from 30m³/h to 200m³/h.

The vertical submersible slurry pump is well used for drilling mud transfer from mud pit to mud equipment or mud storage tank. Vertical design allows mud suction point installed into drilling mud and all bearings is above fluids to make pump free maintenance. A protection cover fixed on mud suction point to stop solids or larger particles being sucked into pump.

How to select the submersible slurry pump?

For pump feeding centrifuge, we need to consider the centrifuge flow rate. For pump feeding shaker in the HDD mud system, we should consider the whole mud system flow rate. And then the submersible length is another issue affect configuration or design. We can supply a pump meet submersible depth up to 3m. How to achieve this? By extension pipe connected to the input port.
Drilling fluids are transferred to desilter cones by a centrifugal pump from the desander tank or compartment. Desilter cone is fed by desilter pump with fluids out of desander. Under pump pressure, the fluids run into cones and flow with centrifugal force. Then the heavy particles will deposit down and pushed out of cone drop in Apex. Particles larger than 15 microns will be separated out of drilling mud.

If pump installs onto mud tank, there is a level plate on pump under motor, the plate is designed to bolted on tank top. The pump can be installed into mud pit as well with a builted simple platform to bolt pump level plate. The vertical design is maximized to reduce it’s footprint especially when it’s installed on tank top.
