Summary of APYZ mud submersible slurry pump

Submersible slurry pump is well used to install on mud pit for mud transfer. AIPU supplied a large quantity of pump to horizontal directional drilling (HDD) site to install on drill pit and suction mud and feed into shale shaker. The whole pump contains an electrical motor and a submersible pump with suitable cover. The rotating part is well protected to avoid site safety issues.
 
APYZ series submersible slurry pump is mainly used in environmental protection, new-type building materials, coal washing, municipal works, thermal power generation, coal gas coking planet, refinery, mining, paper making, cement plant, food products factory and other fields to pump thick oil, oil residue, dirty oil, mud, mortar, running sand and other liquids. Non-explosion proof motor supplied if no special request for cost effective. The slurry pump is well used in HDD drilling site which has no special request for Ex motor because no waste gas. Anyway, explosion proof motor and control panel can be supplied if pump used in EX area.

The vertical submersible slurry pump is well used for drilling mud transfer from mud pit to mud equipment or mud storage tank. Vertical design allows mud suction point installed into drilling mud and all bearings is above fluids to make pump free maintenance. A protection cover fixed on mud suction point to stop solids or larger particles being sucked into pump.
 
 

How to select the submersible slurry pump?

For pump feeding centrifuge, we need to consider the centrifuge flow rate. For pump feeding shaker in the HDD mud system, we should consider the whole mud system flow rate. And then the submersible length is another issue affect configuration or design. We can supply a pump meet submersible depth up to 3m. How to achieve this? By extension pipe connected to the input port.
Drilling fluids are transferred to desilter cones by a centrifugal pump from the desander tank or compartment. Desilter cone is fed by desilter pump with fluids out of desander. Under pump pressure, the fluids run into cones and flow with centrifugal force. Then the heavy particles will deposit down and pushed out of cone drop in Apex. Particles larger than 15 microns will be separated out of drilling mud.

If pump installs onto mud tank, there is a level plate on pump under motor, the plate is designed to bolted on tank top. The pump can be installed into mud pit as well with a builted simple platform to bolt pump level plate. The vertical design is maximized to reduce it’s footprint especially when it’s installed on tank top.
