Wireline Fishing Tools Wireline Grab For Wireline / Slick Line Operation
The Prong Wireline Grab is a wireline service tool, normally used to retrieve wire that has broken in the tubing as the wireline fishing tools. When a line breaks below the stuffing box, a full gauge such as a slotted skirt Wirefinder is normally used to both locate and ball up the broken end of the line before running the wireline grab. The number of prongs will vary with the size of the tubing to maintain the strength of the grab. Smaller sizes of grabs will have only two prongs, while larger sizes may have three or more.
