Portal crane applications are: loading and unloading at port, material handling at dockyard, ship building and repairing yard, metallurgy industry. Main Components of Portal Cranes:

Hoist: The hoist is the mechanism used to lift and lower the cargo. It typically consists of a motor, gearbox, drum, wire ropes, and a hook or other lifting attachment.
Boom: Some portal cranes are equipped with a boom, which is a long, pivoting arm that extends outward from the gantry. The boom can be raised or lowered to adjust the reach and height of the crane.
Operator's Cabin: The operator's cabin is where the crane operator controls the movement and operation of the portal crane. It is typically located on the gantry, providing the operator with a clear view of the working area.
