Crude palm oil and palm meal can be obtained from palm pulp by boiling, crushing and extracting. At the same time, in the crushing process, the fruit (i.e. the kernel) of the palm is separated, then crushed and the husk removed, and the remaining kernel is pressed to obtain the palm kernel oil and kernel meal. Oil palm fruit contains two different oils, and palm oil is obtained from the pulp; Palm kernel oil is obtained from palm seeds (kernels), the former being the more important of the two. All of these products have been effectively used in food, chemical, agriculture and other fields. It can be said that palm is a good economic plant.

After these initial stages of extraction, the crude palm oil and the crude palm kernel oil are sent to a refinery to be refined, where free fatty acids, natural pigments and odors are removed to become salad grade oils - refined palm oil and palm oil salad oil. The refined palm oil is nearly colorless and transparent in liquid state and nearly white in solid state. In addition, according to the needs of different users, palm oil can be further fractionated and processed to form palmitic oleic acid, palm liquid oil and palm stearin. Oil palm fruit contains a lot of lipolytic enzymes, so the harvested fruit must be processed or killed in time. Palm crude oil is easy to hydrolyze and generate more free fatty acids, and the acid value increases rapidly, so it should be refined or extracted in time.
