The double twist of the woven wire mesh provides integrity, strength and continuity to the structure by adding a non-raveling effect that prevents any accidental damage from spreading. Lacing wire is used to assemble and interconnect empty units and to close and secure stone-filled units. Once assembled, the baskets are filled on site with durable stone.

The gabion cage has unique ecological function. A little soil is sprinkled on the surface of the protective body, and greening can be carried out. Because the stones are filled with gaps, the gaps contain soil, which is beneficial to the development of plant roots and creates a good ecological environment.
