The bandwidth of light is the product of the modulation frequency of the maximum modulation frequency pulse and the length of the optical fiber through which a fiber can pass. It is a comprehensive index that characterizes the optical characteristics of a multimode fiber. Considering that there are few optical transmission paths within a single-mode fiber, the dispersion between the modes is small and even negligible. The laser dispersion of the matched LD light emitter is small, so the bandwidth of the optical fiber is currently limited to the multimode fiber. The transmission bandwidth of a mode fiber can be understood to be infinite, but it itself has a high requirement for a connector, so single-mode fiber is generally the choice for long-distance communication.
