Sumitomo gear pump
SUMITOMO gear pump is a rotary pump that transfers liquid or supercharges it by changing and moving the working volume formed between the pump cylinder and the meshing gear. Two closed Spaces are formed by two gears, the pump body and the front and rear covers. When the gears rotate, the volume of the space on the side of the gear detach will increase from small to large, forming a vacuum, and the liquid will be sucked in. The volume of the space on the meshing side of the gear will decrease from large to small, while the liquid will be squeezed into the pipeline. The suction and discharge cavities are separated by the meshing lines of the two gears. Gear pump outlet pressure completely depends on the size of the pump source resistance.
The concept of gear pump is very simple, that is, its most basic form is two of the same size gear meshing and rotating each other in a tight fit shell, the interior of the shell is similar to the "8" shape, two gear installed in the inside, the outside diameter of the gear and the two sides of the shell closely match. The material from the extruder enters the middle of the two gears at the suction inlet, fills the space, moves along the shell as the teeth rotate, and finally discharges as the teeth mesh.
In terms, gear pump is also called positive displacement device, that is, like a cylinder cylinder piston, when a tooth into the fluid space of another tooth, the liquid is mechanically squeezed out. Since the liquid is incompressible, the liquid and the tooth cannot occupy the same space at the same time, thus eliminating the liquid. As a result of the tooth meshing, this phenomenon is continuous in the occurrence, thus also in the pump outlet to provide a continuous discharge, pump every turn, the discharge is the same. As the drive shaft rotates continuously, the pump discharges fluid continuously. The flow of the pump is directly related to the pump speed.
