Metalized plastic sheet for lifting a trail of dust footprint

Purpose

Lift a trail of dust prints on a flat surface.

Composition

A layer of aluminum is electroplated on one surface of the black PET plastic film with 200cm in length, 50cm in width and 0.05mm in thickness. On both long sides of the film, there are two black insulating strips (10mm wide). The short side 1 is wrapped with an insulating plastic sheet to form an insulating strip. The short side 2 is completely electroplated with no insulating strip. Roll up the lifting film around a paper shaft from the short side 2 with the black surface outward and the aluminized surface inward.

Working principle

Charge the aluminized surface with static charge. Like charges repel each other, therefore, the lifting film roll will unfold automatically and cover the footprints. The static charges flowing into the lifting film generate an electric field, which polarizes the dust under the lifting film and then adsorbs the dust prints to the lifting film. When the lifting film unfolds automatically, since both the long sides and the short side 1 have insulating strips, the electric charges cannot leak from any edge and the lifting film can be sufficiently charged. When the lifting film unfolds completely, the short side 2 touches the ground and the excessive charges discharge from the short side 1 to prevent breakdown of the lifting film.

Method

Place the lifting film roll close to one end of the footprints and press the anode plate on the lifting film and connect the cathode plate to the ground. Turn the power on, the positive charges are transmitted to the lifting film through the anode plate and the negative charges flow into the earth through the cathode plate. Like charges repel each other, therefore, the lifting film roll will unfold automatically and cover the footprints. The static charges flowing into the lifting film generate an electric field that adsorbs the dust footprints to the lifting film.

Insulated ground

If the ground is an insulating material such as wooden floor or plastic floor, the negative charges cannot be discharged into the earth and the positive charges cannot flow into the lifting film in a sufficient amount, then the lifting film cannot be unfolded, nor can it generate sufficient adsorption force for the dust. Take the following two methods to solve the problem.

A. Extend the ground wire to connect to a conductive ground or connect it to the heating pipe, water pipe or other conductors. In this way, when the lifter is turned on, the negative charges can smoothly flow into the earth, and the positive charges can flow into the lifting film sufficiently.

B. Use two rolls of lifting film. Use one roll to connect the lifter anode to create positive charges for prints lifting, and use the other roll to connect the negative ground wire of the lifter to discharge negative charges. When the lifter is turned on, the two rolls of lifting film are simultaneously charged and then unfold automatically.

Place the lifting film roll beside the footprints. The cathode plate of the electrostatic adsorber is grounded and the anode plate touchs the electroplated side of the lifting film to charge it

The insulating strips are reserved on the end and both sides of the lifting film. The charge charged into the electroplated layer is completely retained in the electroplated layer to ensure that the lifting film is fully charged. Like charges repel each other, therefore, the lifting film roll will unfold automatically and spread on the ground and touch the ground. The static charges flowing into the lifting film generate an electric field, which polarizes the dust under the lifting film and then adsorbs the dust prints to the lifting film.

The lifting film of the roll is completely unfolded, and there is no insulating strip at the end of the lifting film, so the extra charge will overflow from the end of the lifting film and flow into the ground. If the charge can't overflow completely, too much charge will break through the film.

Turn off the electrostatic adsorber, hold the "safe area" at the front of the lifting film, pick up and turn the lifting film over, and make the black PET plastic face up. The white dust footprints on the black plastic film can be seen by illuminating it with grazing incident light
