Method

A. Principle of restoration

When the original identifying marks were punched into the metal, in addition to the dented deformation of the metal surface, the metal's structure deep underneath the markings is also changed to form a fractured metal crystal layer. After the dented deformation of the stamped writing is obliterated, the fractured metal crystal layer may still exist. The original writing can be restored after the layer of fractured metal crystals is treated with the etching agent. The fractured metal crystal layer is the premise for the restoration of original writing. If this surface is filed so deeply as to remove the fractured layer, the original writing will not be restored.

B. Polishing

Observe the metal surface. If the surface is rough, rusted, or covered with paint, filt it with emery cloth until the metal background reveals. Generally, a fine emery cloth should be used. The rough emery cloth can only be used when the metal surface is rough. The polishing depth should be as shallow as possible, stop polishing when the metal background reveals, prevent the fractured metal crystal layer from being polished away. After the metal background is exposed, polish it with felt cloth and polishing paste to make the surface as smooth as possible.

C. Restoration on steel

The reagents for restoring the writing on steel are "Reagent A for restoration on steel" and "Reagent B for restoration on steel". Take a "Reagent A" and cut the tip seal of the plastic sleeve with scissors to allow the inside and outside of the sleeve to be connected. Use the tip of a small hammer to smash the three glass bottles of "Reagent A" and shake the sleeve to mix the internal solution evenly.

Drop "Reagent A" on the metal, and smear it on the metal with a cotton swab. Repeat the dropping and smearing process, and the restored writing can be seen in about 5-30 minutes. Then, drop "Reagent B", which can increase the contrast of the writing. Drop "Reagent A" and "Reagent B" repeatedly until getting the best effect, and the entire restoration process may last for 1 hour.

In the process of restoration, photos should be taken at each stage in time to for fear of missing the best restoration effect, because the restoration effect in the later period may not be so good as the previous one;

D. Restoration on aluminum

The reagents for restoring the writing on aluminum are "Reagent A for restoration on aluminum" and "Reagent B for restoration on aluminum". Similar to the restoration on steel, cut the sleeve seals of the two reagents and smash the glass bottles in the sleeves, so that the reagents can flow out through the seals. Drop "Reagent A" and "Reagent B" repeatedly until getting the best effect.

E. Restoration on copper

The reagents for restoring the writing on copper are "Reagent A for restoration on copper" and "Reagent B for restoration on copper". Similar to the restoration on steel, cut the sleeve seals of the two reagents and smash the glass bottles in the sleeves, so that the reagents can flow out through the seals. Drop "Reagent A" and "Reagent B" repeatedly until getting the best effect.
