Steps

1 Prepare materials and disinfect the puncture site as usual. Hold the needle correctly and choose the appropriate needle insertion angle to puncture the vein.

2 After the puncture is successful, you will see blood return in the blood return room, lower the angle of the indwelling needle, and push the catheter into the vein with your index finger.

3 Loosen the tourniquet and fix the indwelling catheter with a sterile applicator. At this time, the needle core is still in the catheter, and no blood will overflow.

4 Use your middle finger to press the blood vessel at the top of the indwelling cannula to block the blood flow, and at the same time press the back seat of the catheter with your index finger to fix the needle seat. Pull the stylet out of the catheter. Proper use of the "V"-shaped technique can play a role in hemostasis and fixation.

5. When the needle core is pulled out from the catheter, the safety device with patent protection will automatically activate and lock the needle tip, and immediately put the needle core into the sharps recoverer.

6 Connect the infusion set (or positive pressure connector). Cover the puncture site with a sterile dressing as prescribed by the hospital.
