A scroll compressor is a type of volumetric compression compressor that is particularly efficient and reliable due to its unique design. Other channels may be designed to send gas upwards only, as necessary.
Other structural features that can help to aid in oil separation or minimize oil entrainment include suction baffles, diffusers, streamlined counterweights, and suction line oil traps. These features are designed to work together to keep the system operating smoothly and efficiently.
