What is a 1/4 hard condition?

301-1/4 Hard is an austenitic stainless steel that has been cold rolled to its 1/4 hard condition. This increases the metal's attractiveness for mild drawing, stretching, and forming operations. At 1/4 Hard, Type 301 has a tensile strength of 125,000 PSI minimum, and a minimum yield strength of 75,000 PSI.

Is 301 stainless steel magnetic?

Type 301 Stainless Steel is non-magnetic in the annealed condition, but becomes magnetic through cold work. The high strength and corrosion resistance of this grade of stainless steel makes it useful for a variety of applications.

Is 301 stainless steel strong?

Type 301 is non-magnetic in the annealed condition and becomes increasingly magnetic with cold working. This chromium nickel stainless steel alloy provides high strength and good ductility when cold worked.
