A paper clip, or paper clip, is a small tool made of metal wire that is bent back and forth to help you hold documents or papers in your work life.
The paper clip seems to be the simplest of all inventions. It is nothing more than a small piece of bent wire that holds paper together. But the paper clip went through many iterations before it was made into the shape we use today.
People used to use needles to hold their pages together. But needles damage paper and can hurt users by puncturing fingers. A Norwegian inventor named Johann Vale thinks he can solve this problem. In 1901, he filed a patent application for a wire clip. (Since Norway had no patent system, Wahler patented it in Germany.) Around the same time, several inventors came up with similar designs. However, all of these early clips had problems. When the clip is pushed, the protruding end of the wire can Pierce the paper, causing more damage to the paper than the needle.
