TanYang loose black tea is a powerful source of anti-oxidants that can slow down the aging process and help prevent a wide variety of diseases. Medical research suggests that black tea can assist in lowering cholesterol and regulating blood sugar. Much lower in caffeine than coffee, black tea gently stimulates the heart and circulatory system. By keeping blood vessels soft and lowering blood pressure, black tea can help prevent heart disease and strokes.
History
Tan Yang Gong Fu black tea was first produced in 1851 during the Qing Dynasty, and was then exported to many European countries in high volume. Many tea merchants travelled to Tanyang Village to purchase this tea, as well as open tea houses. In 1915 it won the gold award in the Wan Guo Expo, and earned the praise of “Of Minghong black tea being a treasure in the world, Tan Yang Gong Fu is the best”. Eventually, it even became a common beverage of the English royal family.
Brewing Guide:
1 to 2 teaspoon (2 grams) of tea leaves is recommended for every 150ml (5 oz) of water. Ideal water temperature is 100°c (212°F). For the first and second brewing, leaves should be steeped for about one minute. Gradually increase water temperature and steeping time for subsequent brewing. It is also recommended that you use porcelain or glass-based teaware. Warm the steeping vessels by rinsing them with hot water prior to brewing.
