Product overview
The term "mineral wool" typically refers to two types of insulation material:
Rock wool, a man-made material consisting of natural minerals like basalt or diabase;
Slag wool, a man-made material from blast furnace slag (the scum that forms on the surface of molten metal).
Primary ingredient of rock wool is volcanic rock (basalt) which during manufacturing process is melted at a temperature of about 1600 °C. Molten rock is then run through high speed spinning wheels to produce fibres - somewhat like the process used to prepare cotton candy. Food grade starch is used to bind fibres together and oil is added to reduce dusting. Density of stone wool insulation defines physical, thermal and acoustic properties of the product and therefore its application.
Mineral wool is a general name for fiber materials that are formed by spinning or drawing molten minerals such as slag. Mineral Wool Board insulation comes in a variety of densities and range from rigid to semi-rigid for demanding industrial and mechanical application uses including storage tank insulations, drying/oven equipment and petro-chemical and power generating equipment protection.
Moisture-proof aluminum foil, black (white) glass fiber cloth, sandwich glass fiber felt and moisture-proof facings can be stuck on surface of mineral wool board.

Application
Mineralwool are used for heat insulation and sound absorption of large-caliber pipeline, construction wall and roofs.
Mineralwool glass cloth blankets are used in large-caliber industrial equipment and construction structure with the properties of anti-break and easy for construction. Furthermore, it has dust proof for construction wall.
Mineral wool wire netting blankets are used in strong-shake and high-temperature conditions. They are usually recommended to be used as insulated materials of boiler, shipping, valve and large-caliber and irregular pipelines.
