Description
Processless CTP (Computer-to-Plate) plates, also known as chemistry-free CTP plates, are a type of printing plate that eliminates the need for traditional plate processing steps, such as developing, rinsing, and gumming. Processless CTP plates are typically made of an aluminum base coated with a light-sensitive layer. The light-sensitive layer contains a combination of photopolymers and other materials that react to the laser energy during the imaging process.
When exposed to the laser, the light-sensitive layer undergoes a chemical change, rendering the exposed areas hydrophilic (water-attracting) and the unexposed areas hydrophobic (water-repellent).
