The heat generated by the combustion is transferred to the cylinder wall through the piston ring, thus cooling the piston. The heat dissipated from the piston ring to the cylinder wall can generally reach 30 ~ 40 % of the heat absorbed by the top of the piston
Folding tightness
The first function of the piston ring is to keep the seal between the piston and the cylinder wall to control leakage to a minimum. This role is mainly assumed by the gas ring, that is, the engine in any operating conditions, its compressed air and gas leakage should be controlled to the minimum, in order to improve the thermal efficiency; Prevent air leakage caused by cylinder and piston or cylinder and ring between bite dead; Prevent the failure caused by the deterioration of lubricating oil.
