Cooling of piston
With the improvement of engine strengthening degree, the working temperature of piston rises correspondingly. The temperature of top ring groove is above 220℃, which may produce carbon accumulation and cementing, causing piston ring bonding and cylinder pulling. If the temperature exceeds 180℃, the strength of the aluminum alloy material will drop rapidly, which may cause damage to the high load area of the piston top support and piston pin seat bearing. Normally, if the average effective pressure of the rated working conditions exceeds 1.034n /mm2, the piston needs to be cooled.
Pistons are often cast into steel cooling pan tubes or solvable salt core and electron beam welding into a full circle cooling chamber.
