A plain carbon fiber plate, also known as a plain weave carbon fiber plate or sheet, is a flat, rectangular structural component made entirely from carbon fibers with a plain weave pattern. This type of carbon fiber plate is characterized by its distinctive checkerboard-like appearance created by the intersecting carbon fiber strands.
The plain weave pattern of the carbon fibers adds both visual appeal and strength in multiple directions, making the carbon fiber plate highly versatile and suitable for various engineering and design applications. When selecting a plain carbon fiber plate for a specific project, it's essential to consider the required dimensions, thickness, and other design considerations to ensure it meets the intended performance and structural requirements.
Our Carbon Fiber Panels are constructed with the same certified carbon fiber that is currently used in state-of-the-art aircraft and sailing yachts. With the use of certified T-300 carbon fiber fabric, all of our carbon fiber panels are made to the highest standards in both manufacture and material.
Carbon fiber panels have physical properties that are similar to steel. However, the stiffness of carbon fiber is superior to that of an equivalent piece of steel while also remaining much substantially lighter and is similar to plastic in weight. This gives the carbon fiber panels a much higher strength-to-weight ratio by comparison.

Advantages
To create a more uniform distribution of strength, all Enhanced Composites sheets are manufactured using layers of 0°/90° and 45°/-45° oriented reinforcement in what is known as quasi-isotropic fiber orientation. Carbon fiber sheets using this layup technique offer improved stiffness across their diagonal axis and significantly improved torsional stiffness.
All panels are made with a high-performance epoxy resin that offers excellent mechanical functions, clarity, and improved UV stability, however, we recommend a UV-stable coat to prolong the grade-A finish. An elevated post-cure temperature is applied to increase the mechanical strength of the panel, resulting in a higher Tg and enhancing the inter-laminar sheer strength.
