Cyclone separator is a common gas-solid separation equipment, used to separate solid particles in gas. It uses the centrifugal force and gravity of the rotating air flow to separate solid particles from the gas and collect them at the bottom of the equipment.
The following is the basic principle and working process of cyclone separator:
Principle: Cyclone separator uses the movement characteristics of gas in the rotating flow field to separate solid particles. As the gas passes through the cyclone, it forms a rotating vortex inside the equipment, called a cyclone. The airflow inside the cyclone tube rises in a spiral shape and forms a high-speed rotating vortex on the inner wall. Due to the centrifugal force, the solid particles are forced outward, move downward along the wall of the cyclone tube, and finally fall into the bottom of the equipment.
Filtration process: Gas and solid particles are mixed and enter the air inlet of the cyclone separator. After entering the cyclone tube, the gas begins to rotate and move upward, while the solid particles are forced to move downward by centrifugal force. Due to the balance of gravity and centrifugal force of the particles, larger particles fall along the wall of the cyclone tube and finally fall into the dust collection chamber at the bottom. The smaller particles continue to move upward with the airflow and are discharged through the exhaust port of the cyclone separator.
Particle collection: The separated solid particles are collected in the dust collection chamber at the bottom of the cyclone separator. Dust chambers are usually designed to be conical or cylindrical so that solid particles accumulate at the bottom. Collected particulate matter can be cleaned regularly or otherwise processed and disposed of.
Cyclone separators are widely used in many industries to remove solid particles such as dust, dust, granules or waste from gases. They are commonly used in fly ash processing, cement industry, chemical processes, ore crushing, wood processing and other fields. The cyclone separator has the advantages of simple structure, stable operation, no power drive and low maintenance costs. However, it has poor separation effect on finer particles and may have a certain pressure drop.
