Description of Composite Welding Rods :

1. Tungsten carbide composite welding rod is made of cemented carbide particles and Ni/Ag(Cu)alloy. The carbide particles always be tungsten carbide crushed grits, carbide wear inserts, like the carbide star shape inserts, carbide pyramid shape inserts, shark shape inserts and so on. Sometimes, the carbide particles can be tungsten carbide powder.
2. The economy choice is tungsten carbide crushed grits. If you want to higher durable than carbide grits, carbide inserts is better. However the cemented carbide/crushed carbide with sharp edge has excellent wear resistance and cutting ability too.
3. The hardness is 89-91 HRA, the binder metal is Ni and copper alloy, strength can up to 690MPa, hardness HB≥160.
4. To brief, most of the Composite rod made using crushed sintered Tungsten Carbide grains bonded with a bronze nickel matrix,(Cu 50 Zn 40 Ni 10) with a low melting point ( 870°C ).

Application of Composite Welding Rods:

Composite rod welding has been acknowledged throughout oil drilling, mining and construction industry worldwide for its extra hardness and high wear resistant properties. The use is even spreading to more industries and gets greater uses. Composite rod welding has wear and cutting properties coupled by high-end weld ability and low fuming, allowing the material to use in stabilizers, reamers, drill pipe joints, construction drilling, hydraulic-cutter, pipe cutter blades, core bit, scraper, twist drill, milling and grinding shoes etc.

(4) carbide surfacing welding layer.With YD type electrode surfacing, the use of neutral flame (can be slightly carbonizing flame) tip is steady on the workpiece surface movement, the flame of the alloy electrode heating (be careful not to make flame cone tip contact alloy particles), tire body in the electrode alloy melt, carbide particles are also falling.Before the tire body of molten metal solidification, the particles arrange, can use left hand of the alloy electrode fingers, or another person holding a base electrode or pull rod on graphite rod in a quick stir particles, making them evenly aligned neatly.Surfacing layer thickness control according to the requirements of design.
(5) after the workpiece welding, where no ventilation, slow cooling, cannot quench, conditional usable asbestos blanket cover.
(6) the workpiece after cooling to room temperature, if necessary, grinding surface surfacing to required size and shape.
(7) clean up the workpiece, remove all splash, slag, etc.
