Features of Flanged Linear Bearings
The two main classes of linear bearings are rolling and plain linear bearings. Rolling linear bearings consist of rolling elements within their housing; this facilitates linear motion. Their rolling elements may be recirculating or non-recirculating.
The Flanged Linear Bearing is a low-cost production linear motion system for use with cylindrical shafts with infinite travel. Since the bearing ball is in point contact with the shaft, the operating load is small. The steel ball rotates with minimal frictional resistance, resulting in a smooth motion with high precision.
Flanged linear bearings are widely used in electronic equipment, tensile testing machines and digital three-dimensional coordinate measuring equipment and other precision equipment, as well as multi-axis machine tools, punching machines, tool grinders, automatic gas cutting machines, printers, card sorting machines, food packaging machines and other industries Mechanical sliding parts.
The biggest feature of the flanged linear bearing is that the flange and the bearing are integrated. A series of products with flanges on the outer wheel makes axial positioning simple; no bearing housing is required, making it more economical. When there is no connecting piece at one end of the shaft and it needs to be fixed on a flat surface such as a plate or a wall, the flange bearing shows its advantages. In order to obtain low friction torque, high rigidity, and good rotation accuracy of the bearing, steel balls with small outer diameters are used. The use of hollow shafts ensures light weight and space for wiring.
