Tips
WHY CHOOSE LAP JOINT FLANGES? The biggest limitation to lap joint flange usage is pressure ratings. While many Lap Joint flanges will accommodate greater pressure levels than Slip-On flanges, they’re still not suited for high-pressure applications. If you are unsure, always consult with an engineer before purchasing flanges for use with your piping systems. With the limitations out of the way, both designs offer three major benefits depending on the industry in which you’re involved.
The first is the ability to use different materials for the Backing flange than the Stub End. This means you can match the piping materials as required where components touch piped materials while using more affordable — or otherwise desirable — materials in the outer components which do not interact with piped materials.
The second is the ability to realign and rotate the flange freely to ensure proper connection and speed up maintenance processes in systems that require frequent maintenance. The ability to utilize flanges that do not require filet welds on the plates can also decrease installation times and provide further upfront cost savings. Finally, in high-corrosion or high-erosion processes, Lap Joint flanges allow you to salvage the flange for re-use while replacing Stub Ends as required for safe, cost-effective operation.

Q: Does this tubing come with triclamp ends to be coupled together?
A:This particular tubing comes without tri-clamp ends standard. We can always weld tri-clamp ferrules to the end of tubes for any specific length you need. These products are referred to as tri-clamp spool assemblies. If you need a specific length, please contact us.
Q:Are you able to cut tubing to lengths that don't require freight shipping? Say 5' lengths for example.?
A:Yes, we are able to cut down to other sizes. UPS Ground is able to ship up to 7' without the tubing being considered "oversized".We do charge a cutting fee for this service, however. Please contact us for a quote.
Q:How much does 1 stick of 4" tube weigh?
A: One 20' Stick of 4" Sanitary Tubing weighs approximately 75 pounds.
Q:You list gauge of this tubing at 16, but the wall thickness at 0.065". Isn't 16 gauge 0.0625"?
A: The wall thickness and gauges are all displayed in the table below. Please contact us if you have any other questions.
Q: Do you sell tubing in anything less than cases? I need to order just over 400 feet but don't want to pay for two cases as this is More than I need. A: We do sell tubing on an individual basis however there is a $50 "broken box" fee applied to any order less than an entire case.Since we don't offer a way to order individual tube pieces online please call us to place an order over the phone.
Q: Do this product ship via freight? A: Yes, our tubing comes in standard 20 foot lengths and will need to ship via freight. I'd also like to mention that there is a broken box charge meaning that if you do not order an entire box of tubing you will be charge additional fees as such. For more information please contact us.
