The materials used for car caliper brackets mainly include the following:
1. Aluminum alloy 6061-T6: It consists of 97.9% aluminum, 1% magnesium, 0.6% silicon, 0.28% copper, and 0.2% chromium. Aluminum alloy has the advantages of high strength, lightweight, and good heat dissipation, making it highly advantageous for the brake system. Therefore, aluminum alloy is commonly used in most cases.
2. Aluminum alloy T-7075: It primarily consists of 90% aluminum and 5.6% zinc, with additional elements such as 2.5% magnesium, 1.6% copper, and 0.23% chromium, along with trace amounts of silicon, manganese, titanium, and other metals. Overall, the strength of 7075 aluminum alloy is higher than that of 6061 aluminum alloy because 7075 contains approximately 8% less aluminum than 6061.
3. 45# steel: This type of steel is typically applied to bridge codes with extreme data requirements, such as those with fewer threads and shorter lengths that require overall strength, which cannot be achieved by aluminum alloy.
Sandblasting involves the impact and cutting action of abrasives on the surface of the workpiece, resulting in a certain degree of cleanliness and different levels of roughness. This process improves the mechanical properties of the surface, enhances the fatigue resistance of the workpiece, increases adhesion between the workpiece and the coating, and prolongs the durability of the coating.
Anodizing provides protective, decorative, and insulating properties, improves adhesion with organic coatings, and enhances adhesion with inorganic coatings. The thin film of metal oxide formed changes the surface state and properties, such as surface coloring, improved corrosion resistance, increased wear resistance and hardness, and protection of the metal surface.
