| JARCH's Series 80000 and D80000 spring retractable reels incorporate the most current design and manufacturing techniques to guarantee long life and trouble-free performance. All-steel construction and a baked-on powder coat finish combine to produce a rugged, corrosion-resistant product suitable for a wide variety of heavy duty applications. Series D80000 reels are also supplied with JARCH’s ball-bearing style swivel. |

***Long life drive spring - The unitized cast aluminum fluid path with built in declutching arbor virtually eliminates possibility of leakage and spring damage due to reverse winding. Only the highest quality spring steel is used and conditioned to insure there are no imperfections offering maximum service life.
Installation
CAUTION
Be sure reel base is securely grounded to mounting surface. Check for continuity following installation. On painted surfaces, remove paint at bolt location, use external tooth lockwashers or run ground wire from reel base to grounded object. Failure to ground will prevent reel from performing its intended function and could result in personal injury.
Mount reel to grounded, metal surface using four holes in mounting base. To minimize wear on cable and cable guide, reel should be
mounted in direct line with work so that cable is pulled out as straight as possible during use. See figures 1 & 2.

Adding wraps of hose will increase spring tension. This can be accomplished by pulling out approximately 10 feet of hose, hand feed hose back up through roller bracket assembly* until loop is large enough to slip over sheave. Add two or three wraps until desired tension is achieved. Do not exceed spring capacity.
This can be accomplished by removing wraps of hose from the reel sheave. Remove wraps of hose from the sheave, one wrap at a time, until desired tension is obtained.
*For Series D9000 reels, you will have to remove the bumper and control handle then feed end of hose through roller bracket assembly to add or remove wraps of hose from the reel drum.
2.How do I install a new drive spring and set pre-turns?
We have several different types of spring driven reels. Each require a slightly different set of instructions. For "How-To" instructions on replacing a drive spring please have your reel model or drive spring number available and consult customer service for instructions.
For how many wraps of "pre-tension" to put on the reel, please reference the chart below.

3.Can my spring driven reel be made "constant tension"?
While most JARCH spring retractable reels can be made "constant tension" at the factory or by simply removing the latching system there are some models that may not have this capability.
Please contact Customer Service to assure that the specific reel you have or require is capable of or available as a "constant tension" model.
4.Material leaking from swivel
O-ring worn out or wrong O-ring for material being handled
Replace O-rings with O-ring kit or replace with correct rings for material being handled.
Swivel maybe loose or not enough pipe thread sealant on shaft threads
Replace O-rings with O-ring kit or replace with correct rings for material being handled.
