Tools and materials you'll need:

Pop-up basin waste kit (usually comes with the stopper, rod, and other necessary components)
Adjustable wrench or basin wrench
Plumbers putty or silicone sealant
Towel or cloth
Bucket or container

Step-by-step installation:

Preparation:
- Before you begin, make sure you have turned off the water supply to the sink.
- Place a towel or cloth underneath the sink to catch any water that may spill during the installation process.
- If there is an existing drain assembly, remove it by unscrewing the nut holding the old drain in place. Use pliers if necessary.
Assemble the pop-up waste:
- Take the pop-up basin waste kit and assemble the stopper and rod according to the manufacturer's instructions. This usually involves attaching the rod to the bottom of the stopper.
- Ensure that the rod is at the correct length to operate the pop-up mechanism from the faucet or the lever at the back of the faucet.
Apply plumber's putty or silicone sealant:

- Insert the pop-up waste into the sink's drain opening from above, ensuring that the stopper faces the correct direction.
Secure the waste assembly:

Connect the lift rod or lever:

Check for leaks and proper operation:
