Outdoor Waterproof FTTH Distribution Box For 1x16 LGX Fiber Optic PLC Splitter
The planar waveguide type (PLC) optical splitter is an integrated waveguide optical power distribution device based on quartz substrate, which is fabricated by semiconductor technology (photolithography, etching and developing technology). The optical waveguide array is located on the upper surface of the chip, and the shunting function is integrated on the chip. Then, the two ends of the chip are coupled to the input and output ends of the multi-channel optical fiber array and packaged. The shunt channel of the planar waveguide fiber optic PLC splitter can reach 32 or more. The loss is not sensitive to the wavelength and can meet the transmission needs of different wavelengths. In addition, the planar waveguide (PLC) optical splitter can also be evenly divided, and the signal can be evenly distributed to the user.
When the required shunting is larger (such as 1x16, 1x32, 1x64), the traditional fused biconical taper (FBT) optical splitter will show obvious disadvantage, because the current mature taper technology one can only pull below 1x4, FBT optical splitter more than 4 channels is composed of a plurality of 1x2 fused tapered fiber connected together, and then whole packed in the splitter box. The planar waveguide fiber optic PLC splitter has obvious advantages in this respect, and is especially suitable for large scale applications.
The optical splitter is usually used between the optical line terminal and the optical network terminal of the passive optical network. Network system which uses broadband passive optical network (BPON) technology, gigabit passive optical network (GPON) technology, Ethernet optical network (EPON) technology, 10G Ethernet optical network (EPON) technology and 10G gigabit passive optical network (GPON) technology will also use fiber optic PLC splitter. A passive optical network may only use a optical splitter, or multiple optical splitters may be used together to divide the optical signal. The centralized distribution of PLC optical splitters is generally used in the application of centralized distribution of users. Sometimes the fiber optic PLC splitter can also be placed at the central end of the center, when the fiber optic cable is deployed between the central end and the users. The PLC optical splitter used in passive optical network can carry out two-way transmission, that is to say, optical signals can be transmitted to users from the central office terminal or to the central office terminal from all users.
