The 1771-SDN DeviceNet Scanner Module by AB provides interface between DeviceNet devices and the PLC 5 Processors and it communicates with DeviceNet Devices on the Network to read inputs, write outputs, download configured data, and monitor DeviceNet device operational status, and it also communicates with the PLC 5 Processors in the form of Discrete I/O (DIO) and Block Transfer (BT). The module has a node address of 63 and transfers information over the network at a speed of 125 Kbits per second (Baud rate). The 1771-SDN occupies a single slot on the 1771 I/O chassis, and it draws 0.8A current at 5V DC from the backplane and a 50mA current at 24V DC per channel from DeviceNet. The 1771-SDN provides optical isolation, tested to withstand 500V AC for 1 minute, between the backplane and DeviceNet Channel, and from DeviceNet Channel’s 1 Mega Ohms Resistor to Chassis.
The 1771-SDN is tested to function without de-rating, at an operational temperature range between 0 and 60 0C (32 and 140 0F) at 5-95% non-condensing relative humidity environment and it is stored at a temperature range of –40-85 0C (–40-185 0F). The module is IEC-tested to withstand an operational shock of 30G (withstand 50G non-operational) and a vibration of 2G at 10-500Hz. The 1771-SDN is designed to meet various certification agency standards, it meets the CISPR 11: Group 1, Class A, the IEC Surge Transient Immunity Standards, and the IEC-Conducted RF Immunity Standards. The module weighs approximately 0.9kg (1.9lb), with a dimension of 270 x 30 x 170mm (10.6 x 1.2 x 6.7 inches), and is c-UL, CE, C-TICK, and ODVA-certified.
