Park the car on a hard, flat surface before working on it. Set it in a place where you will be able to operate a jack without much difficulty.
Use a trim removal tool to pry off the plastic base below the brake handle. Climb inside the car to get a good look at the parking brake.
Pull the cover off the parking brake handle.
