Maintenance of starters
In the process of starting the engine, the starting machine should introduce 300~ 400 Ah of electricity from the battery, so in order to prevent the phenomenon of overcurrent or damage to the battery, the starting time should not exceed 5s. In winter, it is easy to have the phenomenon of starting difficulties, and the starting time of each start should not be too long when starting multiple times, and there should be appropriate intervals in each start.
Why is my starter just spinning and not engaging?
In general, a starter that is spinning but not engaging can be caused by a faulty starter clutch, a weak car battery, sticky starter solenoid contacts or if the starter motor bendix is not catching the flywheel. Sometimes it can be a simple lack of power or it can be a mechanical problem with the starter motor itself.
