What is a combination switch?
These devices combine two functions. Correctly installed they are just as safe as two individual switches. Combination switches are always installed with through-switch wiring and never with end-line wiring. That means two or three cables enter the box. Shut off power to the circuit before removing the old switch
How do you know when a combination switch is bad?
If the combination switch assembly is going bad, some components may work while others may not. Furthermore, the switch may completely stop working, so that your headlights, turn signals, windshield wipers, and anything else the switch controls will not work either.
Can a combination switch be fixed?
you can just replace the broken switch instead of the whole assembly. this will make the repair easier since you won't have to remove the steering wheel.
