The indoor unit then sends the electrical signal to the indoor antenna that is directly connected to the unit, and the antenna converts the electrical signal to waves of the same frequency as were received by the outdoor unit. This, the frequency range of the waves does not change, and the cell phones do not notice any difference, except for a dramatic increase in the signal power that they are receiving.
