The origin of uncap frames:
In ancient times, the honeycomb was simply crushed to extract the liquid honey.
Bees take a great deal of effort to build the wax comb, and they consume a considerable amount of honey to create the wax. Once built, they can fill it with honey in no time and it can be reused for many years. That is why your comb is one of your most valuable resources.
The most effective method to extract honey is to centrifuge it with centrifugal force (see extractors). Each cell is sealed with a layer of wax that must be removed before the honey can be extracted, hence the term - uncover.
