Possible use

The Green Spring ® SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid Test is used for the rapid qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein antigens in human nasal or nasopharyngeal swab samples. The results were used to detect SARS-CoV-2 antigens. This antigen is usually detectable in upper respiratory tract specimens during the acute phase of infection. A positive result does not rule out bacterial infection or co-infection with other viruses. The detected pathogen may not be the only cause of the disease. Negative results should be considered in conjunction with the patient's recent exposure, medical history, and the presence of clinical signs and symptoms consistent with COVID-19. Suspected cases should be confirmed by molecular testing. Professional use only.

Specimen collection

Proper sample collection is the most important step. Choose one of the methods and continue the test procedure.

1) Anterior nasal swab (forehead nose)

Make sure to collect enough nasal secretions with a cotton swab. It is recommended to clear the mucus from the nose first.

1. Carefully and slowly insert the swab into the patient's nostril. The tip of the swab should be inserted 2-4 cm into the nostril until resistance is encountered.

2. Wipe along the nostril mucosa to ensure that mucus and cells are collected.

3. Remove the swab from the nostril while gently rotating it between your fingers.

2) Nasopharyngeal swab (nasopharyngeal swab)

1. Tilt the patient's head slightly back. Holding the cotton swab like a pen, carefully insert it into the nostril parallel to the upper jaw.

2. Gently rub and roll the swab while inserting. Stop as soon as you feel resistance in your throat and allow the swab to absorb the secretions.

3. Gently turn the swab with your fingers and slowly remove the swab outward.

3) Oropharyngeal swab specimen collection

1. Tilt the patient's head slightly back, open the mouth, and make an "ah" sound.

2. Expose the pharyngeal tonsils on both sides.

3. Holding the cotton swab, wipe the patient's pharyngeal tonsils back and forth with moderate force at least 3 times.

For best results, the nasopharyngeal method is recommended.

Warnings and Precautions

1. The package insert must be read carefully before testing.

Failure to follow the instructions in the package insert may result in inaccurate test results.

2. For professional in vitro diagnostic use only. Do not use after expiration date.

3. Do not drink or smoke 10 minutes before and during the test.

4. Do not use if the package or test element is damaged.

5. Appropriate laboratory safety techniques should always be followed when handling SARS-CoV-2 patient samples. The test strips used for patient swabs and the extraction buffer bottles used can be potentially infectious. Laboratories should develop appropriate handling and disposal methods in accordance with local regulatory requirements.

6. Wear protective clothing such as a lab coat, disposable gloves, and eyes

Protect while testing and wash hands thoroughly after performing the test.

7. Samples stored in viral transport medium (VTM) may affect assay results.

8. Humidity and temperature may adversely affect results.

Storage and stability

Store tests in airtight foil bags at room temperature or refrigerated (2 - 30"C). Tests are stable until expiration date. Test cartridges should be kept in airtight foil bags until use. Do not freeze. Do not use after expiration date. Keep Keep away from sunlight, humidity and heat sources.
