p16/Ki-67 dual staining reagent is an important marker for cervical cancer screening and diagnosis, which is a new detection method joint recommended by CAP and ASCCP, also recommended by Bethesda Version 2015.

 

Theory

  • p16 causes cell cycle arrest
  • Ki-67 markers cell proliferation
  • Simultaneous expression of both indicates cell cycle disorders and canceration.

Result Interpretation

 

Nucleus of the cell is stained burgundy and cytoplasm is brown or tan.
