HBsAg Rapid Test Kit Colloidal Gold
Intended Use
HBsAg Rapid Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative determination of Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) in human serum or plasma. It is intended for the screening of blood and blood products to be used for transfusion and an aid for the diagnosis of existing or previous hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. The test is recommended for professional use only. All results must be interpreted together with other clinical information or other diagnosis methods available to the physician.
Precautions
1. For professional and IN VITRO diagnostic use only.
2. The test should remain in the sealed pouch until use.
3. Do not use the kit if the foil pouch is punctured or not well sealed.
4. Do not reuse or use kits after the expiration date.
5. Do not mix components from kits with different lot number.
6. Avoid microbial contamination of reagents.
7. Wear gloves during the whole process and avoid reagents or specimen spilling-out. Wash hands thoroughly afterwards.
8. Handle all specimens as if they contain infectious agents. When the assay procedure is completed, dispose of specimens carefully after autoclaving for at least one hour. Alternatively, treat with a 0.5 or 1% solution of sodium hypochlorite for one hour before disposal.
9. Dispose the used kit after decontamination of all liquids or solid wastes by following the local law or laboratory rule.
Assay Procedure
Test device, patient’s samples, and controls should be brought to room temperature (15-30℃) prior to testing. Do not open pouches until ready to perform the assay.
1.Remove the test device from its protective pouch, lay it on a dry and clean flat surface, and label the device with patient or specimen number.
2.For Serum or Plasma specimen: Hold the dropper vertically and transfer 2 drop (about 50μL) of serum or plasma into the specimen well of the test cassette then add 1 drop of buffer (approximately 40 μL) and start the timer. See illustration below.
3.Wait for colored bands to appear. The result should be read in 15 minutes. Do not interpret result after 20 minutes.
Interpretation of Results
(Please refer to the above illustration)
NEGATIVE: One pink line appears in control line, showing the test has been carried out correctly. There will be no line in test region
POSITIVE: In addition to a pink colored control line, a distinct pink colored band will also appear in the test region.
The intensity of the color in the test line region (T) may vary depending on the concentration of HBsAg present in the specimen. Therefore, any shade of color in the test region (T) should be considered positive.
Samples with positive results should be confirmed with alternative testing method(s) and clinical findings before a positive determination is made.
INVALID: A total absence of color in both regions is an indication of procedure error and/or that the test reagent has deteriorated. Repeat the testing using a new device. If the problem persists, discontinue using the kit immediately and contact your local distributor.
