Effects of Trace Mineral Amino Acid Chelates on Growing Pigs

Performance and nutrients availability

Abstract: 48 crossbreed(Duroc×Landrace×Yordshire) growing pigs of average weight of 28kg were randomly divided into 4 groups, 3 replicates per group. Trace mineral levels of 0%,25%,50% and 75% were substituted by mineral amino acid chelates. The trial results of 56 days showed that the average daily gain and Feed efficiency of group B were significantly higher than those of group A(P<0.05); However, no significant difference was found in concentration of Fe, Zn, Cu, Mn in serum among 4 groups(P>0.05); Concentration of Fe, Zn, Cu in feces of B,C,D group were all significantly lower than those of group A(P<0.05). Therefore, feed growing pig with mineral amino acid chelates fodder instead of inorganic mineral fodder, could significantly improve production performance and digestibility of crude protein of fodder.
