Metal Spinning Parts Introduction
Metal spinning, also known as spinning, spinning or metal turning is a metal forming process that uses metal discs or metal tubes that rotate at high speeds to form axially symmetric parts. This process uses cold work metal. Rotate manually or through a CNC lathe. One of the major advantages of metal spinning is that the forming parameters and part geometry can be changed quickly, and the cost is lower than other metal forming processes. This process can be used for high-volume and small-batch production.
Tools in metal rotation operations are usually made of tool steel. In some cases, the mandrel can be made of wood. Containers with bottles or tapered necks can be manufactured on a collapsible mandrel, which can then be disassembled and removed from the molded part. The installation cost of metal spinning is usually low. Spinning operations on a unit basis are relatively expensive. For the production of parts, deep drawing is usually the main alternative manufacturing method for metal spinning. On the contrary, deep drawing usually requires a higher initial investment to build, but the production cost per part is very low. For these reasons, deep drawing is more useful for mass production of parts. Rotation is used for small parts, unique, bent or changed parts and large parts. Operator skills are important in metal rotation. Now, CNC machinery is replacing operators in many cases. CNC spinning produces high-quality stable products.
