Deep-drawing metal stamping is a form of sheet metal forming that involves drawing a flat sheet metal radially into a shape to form the required components. The name "deep drawing" refers to the component involved, the depth of which is greater than the width. We create these depths by redrawing the components through a series of molds, and further reduce the width as the length increases. Generally, parts are partially deep drawn to produce various diameters throughout the part. Compared with turned parts, this process reduces costs, and turned parts generally require more material.

 

In terms of production, deep drawing metal stamping has many advantages:

 

Growth rate. The stretching speed is only limited by the required contact speed of the material. If multiple stretches are required to produce the final stretch, they can be performed simultaneously at the transfer or progressive die station to optimize the cycle time. If you have a lot of demand and want to reduce costs, then these fast cycle times are an effective method.


cut costs. In addition to the productivity savings mentioned above, the cost of molds used for deep drawing is also lower, usually only a set of very durable and renewable simple mold steel or cemented carbide molds, thereby reducing the demand for molds.


Maintain tolerances. The deep drawing process is extremely repeatable, once set up, thousands of parts can be produced within tight tolerances.
Rugged parts. Unlike casting or machining, rolled metal has a slender and cohesive grain structure. Due to the nature of the deep drawing process, the structure flows uninterrupted throughout the deep drawing part, thus forming a very strong finished product.


The diversity of metals. Various metals can be deep drawn, providing many manufacturing options. The most common metals include mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper and brass. An experienced die should be able to help select the best material or alloy for your application.

 

 

Deep drawing metal stamping forming method

 

Deep drawing also involves other forming methods and techniques in the press. These methods include:

 

Beading: Replace material to produce a diameter smaller or larger than the original diameter of the part.


Bottom perforation: cut a round or special-shaped metal part from the drawn part.


Protrusion: Forcing a part of the diameter of the part to extend from the original shape.


Imprinting: Displacement of material to form a specific shape in the component.


Curl: Roll the metal under the curl mold to form a curled edge. Squeeze: Once the pilot hole is created, the large diameter punch will pass through and cause the metal length to increase.


Ironing: thin the component wall.


Neck: Reduce the cross section of the part to a smaller diameter than the rest of the part.


Notch: Cut a notch in a circle, square or other shape at the open end of the part.


Rib forming: During the stretching process, the rib forming creates a rib protruding outward or inward on the part.


Side perforation: perforate the side wall of the drawn component. The shape depends on the specifications of the component.


Stamping: Most commonly used to add markings to parts, such as supplier names or product numbers.


Thread processing: Use rollers and arbor to form threads in parts.


Trimming: Cut off the metal needed to pull the part from the finished part.

Answers: We have color card with different color number, such as RAL9016, we will contrast the sample surface and color card, to make sure the final surface effect is correct.
Questions: Generally, how do you packing the goods?
