The activation of aluminum, namely, removing the passivating oxide film and dispersing the metal, is known to sharply increase its reactivity. In particular, the activated aluminum readily reacts with water, and also with alcohols and other organic compounds. This state of aluminum opens wide opportunities for ap-plication the metal to various processes.
One among the promising ways of application of activated aluminum and its alloys is the environmen-tally friendly procedure for preparation of aluminum oxide substances used in production of catalysts and carriers.
