    AACSR is suitable for long-span medium-voltage, high-voltage and ultra-high-voltage overhead lines. For example, transmitting electrieity inmountains, hills, or severely frozen areas.

Applications:

   Used as bare overhead conductor for primary and secondary distribution. Designed utilizing a high strength aluminum alloy to achieve a high strength-to-weight ratio; affords better sag characteristics. Aluminum alloy gives AAAC higher resistance to corrosion than ACSR.

    The proportions of aluminum alloy and steel can be varied to obtain the relation between current carrying capacity and mechanical strength best suited to each application.
